# Scan Now vs Documents

The clearest difference is rating: Scan Now at 4.1 against Documents's 3.0. Scan Now also leads on ratings volume (257 vs 1). Documents's advantage is update cadence (daily vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan Now sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days and Documents sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan Now holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan Now has 257 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Scan Now ships an update fortnightly, Documents daily. Both last shipped on October 10, 2026.
