# UTunnel VPN vs VPN Guard

The clearest difference is ads: UTunnel VPN at none against VPN Guard's shown. UTunnel VPN also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). VPN Guard's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (24 vs 1). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. UTunnel VPN sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $16.99 per month and VPN Guard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for UTunnel VPN against 5.0 for VPN Guard. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN Guard has 24 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

UTunnel VPN ships an update every 3 months, VPN Guard weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
