# Extra vs Build

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Extra at 63% against Build's 17%. Extra also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.2) and ratings volume (9.6K vs 15). Build's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Extra holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Extra has 9.6K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of Extra's written reviews are positive against 17% of Build's.

Extra ships an update monthly, Build weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
