# Extra vs CleanSlate

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Extra at none against CleanSlate's 4. Extra also leads on ratings volume (9.5K vs 6). CleanSlate's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). On price, monetization model, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CleanSlate sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Extra asks for nothing beyond the download.

CleanSlate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Extra has 9.5K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Extra ships an update monthly, CleanSlate every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
