# iDocCam vs NoteFormat

The clearest difference is update cadence: NoteFormat at every 3 days against iDocCam's every 3 weeks. iDocCam's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iDocCam sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and NoteFormat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iDocCam ships an update every 3 weeks, NoteFormat every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
