# VideoNext vs Magical video maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VideoNext at 71% against Magical video maker's 14%. VideoNext also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 26 months). Magical video maker's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (156 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Magical video maker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magical video maker has 156 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of VideoNext's written reviews are positive against 14% of Magical video maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VideoNext ships an update every 6 weeks, Magical video maker every 26 months. The most recent releases landed on September 11, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
