# VideoNext vs Video Compressor

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VideoNext at 71% against Video Compressor's 15%. VideoNext also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (11 vs 15.6). Video Compressor's advantage is ratings volume (436 vs 4) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Compressor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. VideoNext asks for nothing beyond the download.

Video Compressor holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Compressor has 436 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of VideoNext's written reviews are positive against 15% of Video Compressor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VideoNext ships an update every 6 weeks, Video Compressor monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 11, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
