# Flatmates vs Pet Guardian

The clearest difference is rating: Flatmates at 4.5 against Pet Guardian's 1.0. Flatmates also leads on ratings volume (58 vs 1). Pet Guardian's advantage is update cadence (daily vs monthly) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flatmates sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Pet Guardian sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flatmates holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flatmates has 58 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flatmates ships an update monthly, Pet Guardian daily. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
