# OpenTodoList vs NowThis

The clearest difference is price: OpenTodoList at Free against NowThis's $4.99. OpenTodoList also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and review sentiment (83% vs 50%). NowThis's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On ratings volume, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

OpenTodoList is free to download; NowThis costs $4.99 up front. NowThis sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. OpenTodoList asks for nothing beyond the download.

NowThis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of OpenTodoList's written reviews are positive against 50% of NowThis's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OpenTodoList ships an update every 2 months, NowThis every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
