# BuildID vs thingz

The clearest difference is rating: thingz at 4.8 against BuildID's 1.0. thingz also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (821 vs 1). BuildID's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 58%) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 8 days). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

thingz holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: thingz has 821 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of BuildID's written reviews are positive against 58% of thingz's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BuildID ships an update every 3 days, thingz every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
