# Squishy Magic vs Unicorn Catch

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Unicorn Catch at none against Squishy Magic's 9. Unicorn Catch also leads on ads (none vs shown). Squishy Magic's advantage is ratings volume (332K vs 1.3K) and chart position (#118 vs unranked). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Squishy Magic sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Unicorn Catch asks for nothing beyond the download.

Squishy Magic holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Squishy Magic has 332K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Squishy Magic's written reviews are positive against 88% of Unicorn Catch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Squishy Magic ships an update every 5 weeks, Unicorn Catch monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
