# M vs Anvil App

The clearest difference is rating: Anvil App at 2.3 against M's 1.0. Anvil App also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Anvil App holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Anvil App has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

M ships an update every 8 months, Anvil App every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
