# OptiFlight vs Aviation Runway

The clearest difference is ads: OptiFlight at none against Aviation Runway's shown. OptiFlight also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 9). Aviation Runway's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OptiFlight sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Aviation Runway sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aviation Runway holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OptiFlight has 1.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. OptiFlight ships an update every 6 weeks, Aviation Runway every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
