# EMB vs Boldmethod

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EMB at none against Boldmethod's 9. EMB also leads on ads (none vs shown). Boldmethod's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 62 months) and ratings volume (823 vs 4). On price and rating there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Boldmethod sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. EMB asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for EMB against 4.9 for Boldmethod. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Boldmethod has 823 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
