# Other Side Camera vs MapLayers

The clearest difference is ads: Other Side Camera at none against MapLayers's shown. MapLayers's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Other Side Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MapLayers sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $24.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Other Side Camera ships an update every 6 months, MapLayers every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
