# M vs HeatShort

The clearest difference is rating: M at 4.6 against HeatShort's 3.7. M also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (390 vs 3). HeatShort's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (19% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. M sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and HeatShort sells 18 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

M holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: M has 390 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of M's written reviews are positive against 19% of HeatShort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

M ships an update monthly, HeatShort every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
