# M vs HiShort

The clearest difference is update cadence: HiShort at every 2 weeks against M's monthly. HiShort also leads on review sentiment (12% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.5). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. M sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and HiShort sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $18.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

M holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 390 and 895 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of M's written reviews are positive against 12% of HiShort's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

M ships an update monthly, HiShort every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
