# Day Counter & Countdown vs Countdown widget

Day Counter & Countdown and Countdown widget both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Countdown widget's written reviews are positive against 70% of Day Counter & Countdown's. Countdown widget also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 70). Day Counter & Countdown's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Day Counter & Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Countdown widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Day Counter & Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown widget has 1.3K ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of Day Counter & Countdown's written reviews are positive against 88% of Countdown widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
