# Mega IPTV vs IPTV Smart Player

The clearest difference is monetization model: IPTV Smart Player at free with in-app purchases against Mega IPTV's subscription. IPTV Smart Player also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 3.6K). Mega IPTV's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mega IPTV sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and IPTV Smart Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Mega IPTV against 4.6 for IPTV Smart Player. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IPTV Smart Player has 26K ratings behind it against 3.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 45% of Mega IPTV's written reviews are positive against 48% of IPTV Smart Player's.

Mega IPTV ships an update weekly, IPTV Smart Player monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
