# Evolution of Species 2 vs Squid Simulator

The clearest difference is rating: Evolution of Species 2 at 4.5 against Squid Simulator's 3.7. Evolution of Species 2 also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 16) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Squid Simulator's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Evolution of Species 2 sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Squid Simulator asks for nothing beyond the download.

Evolution of Species 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Evolution of Species 2 has 1.4K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Evolution of Species 2's written reviews are positive against 75% of Squid Simulator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Evolution of Species 2 ships an update monthly, Squid Simulator every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
