# Texter vs CoverMe

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CoverMe at 100% against Texter's 21%. CoverMe also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10). Texter's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.3) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Texter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. CoverMe asks for nothing beyond the download.

Texter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Texter has 1.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Texter's written reviews are positive against 100% of CoverMe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Texter ships an update monthly, CoverMe every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
