# Texter vs S

Texter and S both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of S's written reviews are positive against 21% of Texter's. S also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Texter's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 5) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Texter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and S sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Texter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Texter has 1.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Texter's written reviews are positive against 100% of S's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Texter ships an update monthly, S every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
