# Texter vs Temp Number

The clearest difference is ads: Texter at none against Temp Number's shown. Texter also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Texter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Temp Number sells 8 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Texter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.2K and 618 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Texter's written reviews are positive against 25% of Temp Number's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Texter ships an update monthly, Temp Number every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
