# Texter vs Nextline

Texter and Nextline both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 79% of Nextline's written reviews are positive against 21% of Texter's. Nextline also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and chart position (#170 vs unranked). Texter's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and device support (4 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Texter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Nextline sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Texter against 4.7 for Nextline. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nextline has 9.5K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 21% of Texter's written reviews are positive against 79% of Nextline's.

Texter ships an update monthly, Nextline every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
