# Bob Evans vs Smo

The clearest difference is ads: Bob Evans at none against Smo's shown. Bob Evans also leads on ratings volume (31K vs 39) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Smo's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 69%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smo holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bob Evans has 31K ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Bob Evans's written reviews are positive against 100% of Smo's.

Bob Evans ships an update every 4 months, Smo weekly. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
