# EQ vs Filterjam

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Filterjam at none against EQ's 1. Filterjam also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). EQ's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 22 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EQ sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Filterjam asks for nothing beyond the download.

Filterjam holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 22 and 34 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of EQ's written reviews are positive against 83% of Filterjam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

EQ ships an update every 2 weeks, Filterjam every 22 months. Both last shipped on October 1, 2026.
