# Hugolog Connect vs Security Home

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Hugolog Connect at none against Security Home's 7. Hugolog Connect also leads on review sentiment (28% vs 19%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Security Home's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 160). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Security Home sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Hugolog Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

Security Home holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Security Home has 11K ratings behind it against 160, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Hugolog Connect's written reviews are positive against 19% of Security Home's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hugolog Connect ships an update every 4 months, Security Home every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
