# Glidden vs PetRecs

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Glidden at none against PetRecs's 1. Glidden also leads on ratings volume (533 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17). PetRecs's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PetRecs sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Glidden asks for nothing beyond the download.

PetRecs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Glidden has 533 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Glidden ships an update every 3 months, PetRecs every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
