# Gennec vs RainPoint Home

The clearest difference is rating: Gennec at 4.6 against RainPoint Home's 2.2. Gennec also leads on ratings volume (2.6K vs 65) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.1). RainPoint Home's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Gennec holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gennec has 2.6K ratings behind it against 65, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 22% and 21% positive.

Gennec ships an update every 2 months, RainPoint Home every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
