# FastGuard Agent vs Protos Connect

The clearest difference is rating: FastGuard Agent at 5.0 against Protos Connect's 2.3. FastGuard Agent also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.2). Protos Connect's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (40 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FastGuard Agent holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Protos Connect has 40 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FastGuard Agent ships an update every 6 months, Protos Connect fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
