# Solid GPS vs Memory

The clearest difference is monetization model: Solid GPS at free against Memory's free with in-app purchases. Memory's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Solid GPS ships an update every 6 months, Memory every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
