# EZ vs Direct

The clearest difference is rating: Direct at 4.3 against EZ's 3.2. Direct also leads on review sentiment (59% vs 33%) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Direct holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Direct has 33 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of EZ's written reviews are positive against 59% of Direct's.

EZ ships an update every 4 months, Direct every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
