# HZconnect vs Twingate

The clearest difference is update cadence: Twingate at every 5 weeks against HZconnect's every 7 months. HZconnect's advantage is ratings volume (792 vs 34) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HZconnect holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HZconnect has 792 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of HZconnect's written reviews are positive against 44% of Twingate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HZconnect ships an update every 7 months, Twingate every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
