# Top Nine vs VIEWFINDR

The clearest difference is review sentiment: VIEWFINDR at 80% against Top Nine's 8%. VIEWFINDR also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 12 months). Top Nine's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (203 vs 4). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Top Nine sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and VIEWFINDR sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Top Nine holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Top Nine has 203 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 8% of Top Nine's written reviews are positive against 80% of VIEWFINDR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Top Nine ships an update every 12 months, VIEWFINDR every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
