# Session vs Engross

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Session at none against Engross's 1. Session also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 49%) and ratings volume (937 vs 46). Engross's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Engross sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Session asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Session against 4.6 for Engross. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Session has 937 ratings behind it against 46, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of Session's written reviews are positive against 49% of Engross's.

Session ships an update every 4 months, Engross every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
