# CoStep vs Pedometer

The clearest difference is ads: CoStep at none against Pedometer's shown. CoStep also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months). Pedometer's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CoStep sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Pedometer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CoStep ships an update every 3 weeks, Pedometer every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
