# Pocket Rocket vs Earmuffs

The clearest difference is rating: Earmuffs at 5.0 against Pocket Rocket's 4.5. Earmuffs also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Pocket Rocket's advantage is ratings volume (522 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Rocket sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Earmuffs sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Earmuffs holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Rocket has 522 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pocket Rocket ships an update every 2 months, Earmuffs monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
