# Proofreader AI Grammar Checker vs GhostWriter AI Pro

The clearest difference is ads: Proofreader AI Grammar Checker at none against GhostWriter AI Pro's shown. Proofreader AI Grammar Checker also leads on ratings volume (3.3K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). GhostWriter AI Pro's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proofreader AI Grammar Checker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and GhostWriter AI Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GhostWriter AI Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proofreader AI Grammar Checker has 3.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Proofreader AI Grammar Checker's written reviews are positive against 50% of GhostWriter AI Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Proofreader AI Grammar Checker ships an update fortnightly, GhostWriter AI Pro every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
