# Proofreader AI Grammar Checker vs AI Writing Tools

The clearest difference is review sentiment: AI Writing Tools at 100% against Proofreader AI Grammar Checker's 65%. AI Writing Tools also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Proofreader AI Grammar Checker's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proofreader AI Grammar Checker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and AI Writing Tools sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Writing Tools holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proofreader AI Grammar Checker has 3.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 65% of Proofreader AI Grammar Checker's written reviews are positive against 100% of AI Writing Tools's.

Proofreader AI Grammar Checker ships an update fortnightly, AI Writing Tools every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
