# Stay Safe VPN vs DocuShield

The clearest difference is update cadence: DocuShield at every 2 weeks against Stay Safe VPN's every 14 months. DocuShield also leads on review sentiment (83% vs 64%) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). Stay Safe VPN's advantage is ratings volume (510 vs 37) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stay Safe VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and DocuShield sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $12.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DocuShield holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stay Safe VPN has 510 ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Stay Safe VPN's written reviews are positive against 83% of DocuShield's.

Stay Safe VPN ships an update every 14 months, DocuShield every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
