# Stay Safe VPN vs SecStream VPN

The clearest difference is ads: Stay Safe VPN at none against SecStream VPN's shown. Stay Safe VPN also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). SecStream VPN's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 14 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stay Safe VPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month and SecStream VPN sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SecStream VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 510 and 204 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Stay Safe VPN's written reviews are positive against 60% of SecStream VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stay Safe VPN ships an update every 14 months, SecStream VPN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
