# Tune Protect vs Public Gold

The clearest difference is rating: Public Gold at 4.3 against Tune Protect's 3.0. Public Gold also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 2). Tune Protect's advantage is review sentiment (24% vs 14%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Public Gold holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Tune Protect's written reviews are positive against 14% of Public Gold's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
