# Discover New Comics vs LuckyComic

The clearest difference is rating: LuckyComic at 4.1 against Discover New Comics's 3.4. LuckyComic also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 14 months). Discover New Comics's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 22%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Discover New Comics sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and LuckyComic sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LuckyComic holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LuckyComic has 41 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Discover New Comics's written reviews are positive against 22% of LuckyComic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Discover New Comics ships an update every 14 months, LuckyComic every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
