# SymEditor vs PlanMaker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PlanMaker at 82% against SymEditor's 0%. PlanMaker also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (174 vs 2). SymEditor's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SymEditor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and PlanMaker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
