# CloudDVR vs AlfaPlus

The clearest difference is rating: AlfaPlus at 4.2 against CloudDVR's 2.6. CloudDVR's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (13% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AlfaPlus holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CloudDVR has 25 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 13% of CloudDVR's written reviews are positive against 0% of AlfaPlus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CloudDVR ships an update monthly, AlfaPlus every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
