# Markdown゜ vs Inkiostro

The clearest difference is rating: Markdown゜ at 4.5 against Inkiostro's 3.0. Markdown゜ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (473 vs 4). Inkiostro's advantage is review sentiment (60% vs 31%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Inkiostro sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Markdown゜ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Markdown゜ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Markdown゜ has 473 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Markdown゜'s written reviews are positive against 60% of Inkiostro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Markdown゜ ships an update every 6 weeks, Inkiostro weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
