# Focus Lock vs Focused

The clearest difference is rating: Focused at 5.0 against Focus Lock's 4.3. Focus Lock's advantage is ratings volume (292 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus Lock sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Focused sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focused holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus Lock has 292 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Focus Lock ships an update every 2 weeks, Focused weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
