# Recurrence vs Space Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Recurrence at 4.7 against Space Notes's 3.7. Recurrence also leads on ratings volume (327 vs 3). Space Notes's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recurrence sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Space Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Recurrence holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recurrence has 327 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Recurrence ships an update every 3 weeks, Space Notes every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
