# Recurrence vs OnClock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Recurrence at free with in-app purchases against OnClock's subscription. Recurrence also leads on ratings volume (325 vs 1). OnClock's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Recurrence sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and OnClock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OnClock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Recurrence has 325 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Recurrence ships an update every 3 weeks, OnClock every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
