# Save the Cat! vs Inside The Edit

The clearest difference is rating: Save the Cat! at 4.6 against Inside The Edit's 3.0. Save the Cat! also leads on ratings volume (471 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.6). Inside The Edit's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 38%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Save the Cat! sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Inside The Edit sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Save the Cat! holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Save the Cat! has 471 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Save the Cat!'s written reviews are positive against 75% of Inside The Edit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Save the Cat! ships an update every 2 months, Inside The Edit every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
